Murray Perahia

Maurizio Pollini has canceled his April 10 recital at Symphony Center due to illness.

Murray Perahia will replace the Italian pianist for this event. Perahia himself canceled his recital in the same series last November due to a hand injury.

The program will include Bach’s French Suite No. 5 in G Major, Beethoven’s  Piano Sonata No. 27, Brahms’ Four Piano Pieces, Op. 119,  Schumann’s Kinderszenen, and works of Chopin.

Tickets already purchased for the Pollini program will be honored for this event. cso.org; 312-294-3000.

Lucky ticket holders! Perahia is in a class by himself. When critics say his playing is transcendent they know of what they speak. Pollini fans who are not familiar with Perahia will leave the concert hall with a smile on their face and contentment in their heart. Enjoy.
