Nothing says Christmas like opera in a swimming pool.

If you missed Chicago Opera Theater’s aquatic presentation of Ricky Ian Gordon’s Orpheus last month, you have another chance.

Chicago’s alternative opera company is encoring their well-reviewed staging of Gordon’s song-cycle for three more performances. Soprano Valerie Vinzant and clarinetist Todd Pamer will reprise their roles, but this time the performances will take place at the Welles Park Pool in Lincoln Square, 2333 W. Sunnyside, at 7:30 p.m. December 19, 20 and 22.

As before in this cooperative venture with the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events and Chicago Park District, the performances are free. A limited number of advance reservation tickets will be available for these three dates by calling 312-704-8414 or by visiting chicagooperatheater.org. Most tickets will be available for walk-up only.
