Let’s hope that Eugene Izotov stays healthy.

In what is becoming a hard-luck program, next week’s Chicago Symphony Orchestra concerts now have a second artist cancellation.

Dorothea Röschmann, who was slated to sing the Four Last Songs in the CSO’s Richard Strauss program, has pulled out due to laryngitis. This follows Wednesday’s announcement that conductor Edo de Waart would replace the ailing Vladimir Jurowski on the podium.

Soprano Susanna Phillips, who is singing a Schubert recital this Sunday at Symphony Center, will replace Röschmann in this CSO program on May 15-17. cso.org; 312-294-3000.
