The Chicago concert calendar has created an unexpected Johann Sebastian Bach weekend across several local organizations. Harry Bicket leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Thursday through Saturday in an eclectic program that pairs Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 and Four Preludes and Fugues (arranged by Stravinsky) with music of Rameau and Poulenc. Also the Rockefeller Chapel Choir presents the composer’s Mass in B minor 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Hyde Park cathedral and 3 p.m. Sunday at. St. Josaphat’s Church in Lincoln Park.

Pride of place goes to the venerable Bach Week Festival, which concludes with two events this weekend at North Park University’s Anderson Chapel.  At 7:30 p.m. Friday, the festival will offer Bach’s First and Third Brandenburg Concertos and the “Coffee” Cantata along with Stravinsky’s Dumbarton Oaks. The final program 2:30 p.m. Sunday presents the Fourth and Sixth Brandenburg Concertos, the Cello Suite No. 6, performed by Katinka Kleijn, and the Mass in F major, conducted by Richard Webster. bachweek.org; 847-269-9050.
