Riccardo Muti is back to lead his first local Chicago Symphony Orchestra concerts since last October. This week’s subscription program offers Rossini’s Semiramide Overture, Mendelssohn’s “Reformation” Symphony (No. 5) and Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with soloist Yefim Bronfman. Concert times are 8 p.m. Thursday, 1:30 p.m. Friday. and 8 p.m. Saturday.

Also Muti will lead CSO members in a special performance of Haydn’s Seven Last Words of our Savior 7:30 p.m. Friday at Holy Name Cathedral. Cardinal Blase J. Cupich, Archbishop of Chicago, will participate in the readings.
