Mozart’s Requiem will be performed in Music of the Baroque’s season-opening program this weekend.

Music of the Baroque will make its belated Millennium Park debut tonight in a free outdoor prelude to the ensemble’s 48th season. Jane Glover will lead the MOB Orchestra and Chorus in a populist “Baroque’s Greatest Hits” program. Excerpts from Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Handel’s Water Music and Music for the Royal Fireworks, and Mozart’s Requiem will be presented 6:30 p.m. at the Pritzker Pavilion.

MOB’s season proper will launch this weekend with Mozart’s Requiem (complete), with soprano Amanda Majeski and bass-baritone Eric Owens among the vocal soloists. The MOB Chorus will also be in the spotlight for three of Handel’s Coronation Anthems including Zadok the Priest (No. 1). 

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Harris Theater and 3 p.m. Sunday at the North Shore Center for the Performing Arts in Skokie. baroque.org; 312-551-1414.
