Lyric Opera, striking musicians reach agreement

The Lyric Opera of Chicago and the musicians of the Lyric Opera Orchestra have reached an agreement, the company announced Saturday evening.

The three-year contract extends through the 2020-21 season. The contract is subject to ratification by the members of the Chicago Federation of Musicians.

The company released no details about the agreement.

    I was about to pack up my losses in plane fare and hotel costs and send the bill to Mr. Freud.

    I hope the musicians got a good deal. This company is so wonderful.
    What a pity to lose so many performances and rehearsal time.

    At the beginning of this, the company was in the black.
    It’s criminal what the board and CEO did.
