The Grant Park Music Festival still hopes to open on time June 10.

In the wake of Governor Pritzker’s order on Thursday keeping Illinois’s Covid-19 quarantine largely in place through May 31, all local concerts for next month have been cancelled.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra has been forced to zero out four more weeks of events through June 9. That includes CSO programs that were to be led by Susanna Mälkki and Nikolaj Szeps-Znaider, a Joyce DiDonato concert, and piano recitals from Igor Levit, Maurizio Pollini and Denis Kozhukhin.

Just the final two weeks of the CSO season remain, led by Riccardo Muti. The programs are the final installments of this year’s Beethoven 250 series, featuring the composer’s Sixth, Eighth and Ninth symphonies.

Looking towards the summer, the Grant Park Music Festival is still hoping to open on time June 10. Ravinia has cancelled all events through June 4.
