Nicola Alaimo, scheduled to sing Iago in next week’s Chicago Symphony Orchestra performances of Verdi’s Otello led by Riccardo Muti, has canceled his appearances due to an ear infection, on the advice of his doctor.

Alaimo will be replaced by the veteran Italian baritone Carlo Guelfi, who will make his CSO debut in these concerts.
