CSO recordings nominated for multiple Grammys

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra was honored with several Grammy nominations for its two recent recordings on the Resound label.

Riccardo Muti’s performance of Verdi’s Requiem was nominated in two categories as Best Classical Album and Best Choral Performance.

Pierre Boulez’s recording of Stravinsky’s Pulcinella, Symphony In Three Movements, and Four Études was nominated for Best Orchestral Performance.

Also, James Mallinson was nominated for Classical Producer of the Year for his work on several recordings, including the CSO Resound discs of Mahler’s Symphony No. 2 and the pairing of Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben and Webern’s Im Sommerwind, both led by Bernard Haitink.

The winners will be announced on February 13, 2011.
