Boulez cancels CSO appearances

Pierre Boulez has canceled both weeks of his upcoming appearances with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra “on the advice of his opthalmologist.” Boulez also cancelled the majority of his Cleveland Orchestra appearances this month.

Cristian Macelaru will take over the Feb. 24 and 26 programs consisting of Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire and Stravinsky’s The Soldier’s Tale. And Jonathan Nott will now helm the performances of Mahler’s Das Lied von der Erde March 1-3.
