If there is an upside to Pierre Boulez’s latest Chicago Symphony Orchestra cancellation for health reasons, it is that local audiences get a chance to hear conductor Asher Fisch once again lead the CSO. The conductor is a first-class Wagnerian and the scheduled program, serendipitously, plays to his strengths with Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and the Prelude to Act 1 of Parsifal. The program also includes the Adagio from Mahler’s Symphony No. 10 and Schoenberg’s Violin Concerto with soloist Michael Barenboim making his local debut. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. cso.org; 312-294-3000.
