Anna Netrebko and Joseph Calleja are bringing genuine excitement and vocal glamour to the Lyric Opera’s current production of La Boheme. This is one of the opera highlights of the current season and there are four more performances of Puccini’s melodic romance 2 p.m. Friday, 7:30 p.m. Monday and March 22, and 2 p.m. March 28.; 312-332-2244.

If there is an upside to Pierre Boulez’s latest Chicago Symphony Orchestra cancellation for health reasons, it is that local audiences get a chance to hear conductor Asher Fisch once again lead the CSO. The conductor is a first-class Wagnerian and the scheduled program, serendipitously, plays to his strengths with Wagner’s Siegfried Idyll and the Prelude to Act 1 of Parsifal. The program also includes the Adagio from Mahler’s Symphony No. 10 and Schoenberg’s Violin Concerto with soloist Michael Barenboim making his local debut. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.; 312-294-3000.
