Giuseppe Verdi’s “Four Sacred Pieces” will be performed by Riccardo Muti, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and CSO Chorus in the final program of the season.

Riccardo Muti, Giuseppe Verdi and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra make an unbeatable combination. Muti and the orchestra will be joined by the CSO Chorus for a season finale featuring Verdi’s Four Sacred Pieces, Mozart’s Ave verum corpus and Vivaldi’s Magnificat. Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday, 1:30 p.m. Friday, 8 p.m. Saturday and 3 p.m. Sunday.; 312-294-3000.

Any chance to catch Peter Serkin’s blend of keyboard virtuosity and bracing intelligence  should not be missed. The American pianist will present a typically venturesome program at Ravinia, mixing Mozart and Beethoven with works of Sweelinck and Nielsen. Concert time is 8 p.m. Friday at the Martin Theatre.; 847-266-5100.
