CSO renews contract at Ravinia through 2018

The Ravinia Festival will continue to be the summer home of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra through 2018.

The CSO and the Highland Park festival signed a new five-year contract calling for six weeks of CSO concerts each year. The orchestra has played at Ravinia for every summer since 1936.

    It seems the frequency of CSO performances at Ravinia has been declining over recent years. Is this true or just my imagination? If true, what accounts for it?
