Haymarket Opera to present Charpentier double bill in March

A double bill of Marc-Antoine Charpentier will make up Haymarket Opera’s second and final production for the 2013-14 season.

The company will present Actéon with the pastorale Le jugement de Pan March 7 and 8. Swedish haut-contre Olof Lilja will star as the hunter Actéon, with Ellen Hargis directing, and Craig Trompeter leading a chamber orchestra of period violins, recorders, gambas, and theorbo.

Performances will be 7:30 p.m. March 7 and 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. March 8 at Mayne Stage in Rogers Park. maynestage.com, haymarketopera.org; 773-381-4551.
