Riccardo Muti is back in town for two weeks of concerts, his first local Chicago Symphony Orchestra appearance since early October. Yefim Bronfman will join the CSO’s music director as solo protagonist in what has become Bronfman’s signature piece, Brahms’ epic Piano Concerto No. 2. The Illinois Philharmonic Orchestra continues its season with a populist program Saturday night. David Danzmayr leads the southwest suburban ensemble in Elgar’s Enigma Variations, Gabriela Lena Frank’s Elegia Andina, and Brahms’ Violin Concerto with soloist Bella Hristova.
