The Lyric Opera has a new Cavaradossi for its first-cast Tosca.

Misha Didyk has bowed out of the role for personal reasons. Brian Jagde will make his Lyric Opera debut, replacing Didyk for the January-February performances.

The American tenor performed the role of Cavaradossi earlier this season at San Francisco Opera and previously at Deutsche Oper Berlin and Santa Fe Opera. Jagde made his Metropolitan Opera debut last season as Count Elemer in Strauss’s Arabella.

The Lyric Opera’s production of Puccini’s Tosca opens January 24 and runs through February 5. A second Tosca cast will perform the opera March 3-14. lyricopera.org; 312-827-5600.
