If you didn’t get your Lenten Bach fix with the Chicago Bach Project’s St. John Passion last week, you’ve got another shot Sunday afternoon.
Bruce Tammen will lead the Chicago Chorale in Bach’s mighty St. Matthew Passion, the most epic and celebrated of his three largest religious works for chorus and orchestra. The orchestra musicians will be performing on period instruments, and soloists include Gerard Sundberg as Jesus and Stephen Soph as the Evangelist, along with Ellen Hargis, Angela Young Smucker, and Ryan De Ryke.
Performance time is 3 p.m. Sunday at Rockefeller Chapel. chicagochorale.org.
