One rarely gets the chance to experience Chinese opera in Chicago but the Harris Theater will provide that choice opportunity next week. The Shanghai Jingju Theatre Company will present The Revenge of Prince Zi Dan September 28 and 29. This retelling of Shakespeare’s Hamlet by the Peking Opera-affiliated company will likely offer a visually resplendent and distinctive take on the art form.

The Shanghai Jingju Theatre Company performs 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 28 and Thursday, September 29 at the Harris Theater. harristheaterchicago.org; 312-224-7777.
