Lyric Opera to present Gluck’s “Orphée” in September

Gluck’s Orphée et Eurydice will open Lyric Opera of Chicago’s 2017-18 season in a coproduction with LA Opera and the Joffrey Ballet.
The production of Orphée, Lyric Opera’s first performance of the 1774 Paris version, will open September 23 and run through October 15. Harry Bicket will conduct and John Neumeier, director of Hamburg Opera, will be director, choreographer and stage designer.
The Chicago cast will star Dmitry Korchak in his Lyric debut as Orphée, Ryan Opera Center alumna Andriana Chuchman as Eurydice and Lauren Snouffer as Amour.
