Her annual Mozart concerto evenings with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra appear to be a thing of the past, but Mitsuko Uchida, fortunately, remains on the CSO’s regular soloist roster.

The popular pianist returns to Chicago this week to perform Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 with Riccardo Muti leading the orchestra. The well-stuffed program also contains Rossini’s Overture to La scala di seta, Schumann’s Symphony No. 4, and the world premiere of Samuel Adams’ many words of love.

Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday and Saturday, 3 p.m. Sunday and 7:30 p.m. March 21 at Orchestra Hall. The program will also be performed 7:30 p.m. Friday at Edman Memorial Chapel in Wheaton. cso.org; 312-294-3000.
