Christoph Eschenbach has pulled out of this weekend’s Chicago Symphony Orchestra concerts at Ravinia due to illness, the festival announced Monday night.

James Conlon, Ravinia’s former music director, will return to conduct the Friday and Saturday concerts. The programs will remain the same except for Mendelssohn’s “Italian ” symphony replacing the same composer’s “Reformation” symphony Friday night.
