Jean-Yves Thibaudet

Few musicians own the Gallic keyboard repertory like Jean-Yves Thibaudet. The French pianist returns to town this week to perform Ravel’s Concerto for the Left Hand, part of then Chicago Symphony Orchestra‘s Ravel evening.

Making his CSO podium debut in this program is Matthias Pintscher. The German composer-conductor will also lead the CSO in Ravel’s orchestration of Debussy’s Sarabande and Danse and close the evening with Ravel’s complete ballet Daphnis et Chloe, joined by the CSO Chorus.

Performances are 8 p.m. Thursday, 1:30 p.m. Friday, 8 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 p.m. Tuesday. cso.org; 312-294-3000.
