The Chicago Symphony Orchestra announced today that it has cancelled all scheduled concerts through March 31, 2021 due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic and local restrictions on large gatherings. The Thursday morning announcement follows the orchestra previously cancelling its fall 2020 events in July.

Today’s news leaves the CSO with less than three months remaining in its 2020-21 season.

As before, the orchestra said it will continue to explore the possibility of rescheduling programs and is “reviewing plans to present smaller-scale live performances with a reduced audience” in the future.

The CSO has launched a streaming CSO Sessions series, which will continue with additional program through 2021. Additional content is available on the CSOtv platform at cso.org.
